Hint Preposition คือ คำบุพบท เป็นคำที่แสดงความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างคำๆ หนึ่ง กับคำอื่นในประโยค เชื่อมระหว่างกริยา, นาม, สรรพนาม หรือ คำอื่นใด เพื่อบอกสถานที่ , เวลา , ทิศทาง และอื่นๆ ซึ่งคำที่เราคุ้นเคยและใช้กันอยู่เสมอ คือ In, On และ At นั่นเอง และด้วยความที่ Preposition มีหน้าที่แสดงความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างคำอื่นๆ ในประโยค จึงทำให้เราต้องใช้ Preposition บ่อยมาก จึงต้องไม่สงสัยเลยว่าในข้อ TOEIC เราก็จะพบการใช้ Preposition บ่อยด้วยเช่นกันโดยในภาษาอังกฤษนั้น มี Preposition อยู่ราวๆ 150 คำ แค่ผู้เข้าสอบจำได้หมดก็สบายแล้วล่ะ อะ อะ ล้อเล่นนะจ๊ะ ถึงแม้ Preposition จะมีอยู่มากมาย แต่ที่ข้อสอบ TOEIC นำมาออกจริงๆ นั้น มีไม่กี่คำ สามารถแบ่งหมวดหมู่ได้ดังนี้1. Preposition of Time : คำบุพบทบอกเวลาIn ใช้กับ เดือน ฤดู ปี She will go to Korea in winter. On ใช้กับ วันและเทศกาล He arrived on Friday. At ใช้ กับเวลาที่เฉพาะเจาะจงเท่านั้น He arrived at 10 p.m. From…to… จาก…ถึง I lived there from August to December . Since – ตั้งแต่ She has gone to Singapore since last month. For – เป็นเวลา Bob has gone for 2 months. During – ระหว่าง,ในช่วง I like to sleep during my break. From…until – จาก...จนถึงThe concert start from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. 2. Preposition of Place : คำบุพบทบอกสถานที่In : ข้างใน ใช้เพื่อสื่อความหมายว่า สิ่งหนึ่งอยู่ข้างในบางสิ่งบางอย่างและใช้กับเมือง ประเทศ หรือพื้นที่ที่มีการจำกัดบริเวณชัดเจน เช่น ในกล่อง ในห้อง ในรถA cat is in the kitchen.On : บน ใช้เพื่อสื่อว่า บางสิ่งอยู่บนบางสิ่ง นอกจากนี้ยังใช้กับ ชื่อถนน และพื้นผิว (Surface) ของสิ่งต่างๆ เช่น บนพื้น บนกำแพงThe picture is hanging on the wall.At : ที่ ใช้กับสถานที่ที่เจาะจง โดยถ้าเป็นที่อยู่จะต้องขึ้นต้นด้วย เลขที่บ้านShe lives at 501 Sub street.Above : เหนือ โดย above จะต่างจาก on ตรงที่ ถ้าเราใช้ above แสดงว่ามีพื้นที่ระหว่างสองสิ่ง เช่นThe shelf is above the TV. ตู้อยู่เหนือ TV แต่ถ้าใช้ The shelf is on the TV. หมายถึง ตู้วางอยู่บน TVOver : ข้ามUnder :ข้างใต้เนื่องจาก In, On และ At สามารถเป็นได้ทั้ง Preposition of Time และ Preposition of Place เราจึงจะเจอคำเหล่านี้ค่อนข้างบ่อยในข้อสอบ TOEIC ดังนั้นผู้เข้าสอบจึงควรจดจำการใช้คำเหล่านี้ให้แม่นยำ กันพลาดกันด้วยนะ3.
