1.Bitcoin (BTC)

คริปโทเคอร์เรนซีสกุลแรกของโลกที่เกิดขึ้นจากบุคคลที่ใช้นามแฝงว่า Satoshi Nakamoto ซึ่งปัจจุบันก็ไม่มีใครรู้ตัวจริงของ Satoshi โดย Bitcoin เกิดขึ้นมาเพื่อเป็นสกุลเงินที่สามารถใช้ชำระเงินผ่านอินเทอร์เน็ตได้โดย “ไม่ต้องผ่านตัวกลาง”

Bitcoin มาจากคำว่า Bit ที่หมายถึงหน่วยความจำที่เล็กที่สุดของคอมพิวเตอร์ ผสมกับ Coin ที่แปลว่า เหรียญ โดย Bitcoin ทำงานอยู่บนเทคโนโลยีบล็อกเชน ที่ทำให้การทำธุรกรรมด้วย Bitcoin เกิดขึ้นได้โดยไม่ต้องผ่านตัวกลาง จึงสามารถลดค่าธรรมเนียมที่ต้องจ่ายให้กับตัวกลาง ลดระยะเวลา ทำธุรกรรมได้ตลอด 24 ชั่วโมง และทำจากที่ไหนก็ได้ที่มีอินเทอร์เน็ต

การมาของ Bitcoin ได้กระตุ้นให้กลุ่มคนที่มี Passion นำเทคโนโลยีเบื้องหลังอย่างบล็อกเชนไปพัฒนาให้เกิดเป็นการใช้งานรูปแบบใหม่ ๆ รวมถึงคริปโทเคอร์เรนซีสกุลอื่น ๆ ที่จะกล่าวถึงต่อไปนี้

2.Ethereum (ETH)

สกุลเงินดิจิทัลที่มีมูลค่าตลาดรวมสูงสุดเป็นอันดับที่ 2 ของโลก ณ ปัจจุบัน เป็นรองเพียงแค่ Bitcoin

Ethereum เกิดขึ้นจากฝีมือของ Vitalik Buterin ร่วมกับผู้ก่อตั้งคนอื่น ๆ ในปี 2015 โดยได้นำเทคโนโลยีบล็อกเชนมาพัฒนาต่อยอดให้มีความเร็วและความเสถียรที่มากกว่าของ Bitcoin แต่จุดเด่นของ Ethereum คือการนำ Smart contract หรือสัญญาอัจฉริยะมาใช้กับบล็อกเชน

ซึ่ง Smart contract ก็คือ “ข้อตกลงที่สามารถดำเนินการได้ด้วยตัวเองเมื่อครบเงื่อนไขที่กำหนดโดยไม่ผ่านตัวกลาง” เปรียบเสมือนกับการเขียนโปรแกรมบนบล็อกเชน ทำให้ Ethereum เป็นมากกว่าเครือข่ายสำหรับการโอนมูลค่า แต่ Ethereum เปรียบเสมือน “คอมพิวเตอร์ของโลก”

ความสามารถในการใช้ Smart contract และพื้นฐานทางเทคนิคที่เข้มแข็งของ Ethereum ทำให้เกิดนวัตกรรมใหม่ ๆ ขึ้นบนเครือข่ายไม่ว่าจะเป็นโทเคน NFT หรือ DeFi และที่สำคัญ Ethereum ยังมีการพัฒนาอยู่เสมอ ซึ่งในปี 2022 เราอาจได้สัมผัสกับ Ethereum 2.0 อีกด้วยก็เป็นได้

3.Bitkub Coin (KUB)

USDT คือเหรียญประเภท Stablecoin หรือเหรียญที่มีมูลค่าคงที่ได้รับความนิยมสูงที่สุดในปัจจุบัน สร้างขึ้นโดยบริษัท Tether ในฮ่องกง

เหรียญประเภท Stablecoin แตกต่างกับคริปโทเคอร์เรนซีสกุลอื่น ๆ ที่มีความผันผวนของราคาสูง ซึ่ง USDT สามารถทำได้โดยการผูกมูลค่า USDT เข้ากับสกุลเงินดอลลาร์สหรัฐฯ (USD) ในอัตรา 1:1 โดยบริษัทฯจะเก็บเงินดอลลาร์ไว้ในคลังเท่ากับจำนวนเหรียญ USDT ทั้งหมด หากมีผู้ถือเหรียญ USDT ต้องการแลกกลับเป็นเงินดอลลาร์ก็จะสามารถแลกได้ทันที

5.Cardano (ADA)

เครือข่าย Cardano เกิดขึ้นจากฝีมือของหนึ่งในผู้ร่วมก่อตั้ง Ethereum อย่าง Charles Hoskinson ที่ต้องการพัฒนาเครือข่ายบล็อกเชนที่มีความสามารถด้าน Scalability หรือความสามารถในการขยายเครือข่ายเพื่อรองรับจำนวนธุรกรรมที่สูงขึ้นได้อย่างมีประสิทธิภาพ

Charles Hoskinson เชื่อว่าความสามารถในการขยายเครือข่ายได้ดี จะช่วยผลักดันให้บล็อกเชนสู่การ Mass adoption หรือการยอมรับและใช้งานเป็นวงกว้าง ซึ่งเป็นกุญแจสำคัญที่จะทำให้คริปโทเคอร์เรนซีและบล็อกเชนเข้ามามีบทบาทกับวิถีชีวิตของผู้คนและเศรษฐกิจโลก

Cardano สามารถทำได้โดยการใช้ระบบที่เรียกว่า “Proof-of-Stake” แทนระบบเดิมที่ Bitcoin และ Ethereum ใช้อย่าง Proof-of-Work ที่ค่อนข้างช้าและกินพลังงานมหาศาล

นอกจากนี้ Cardano ยังถูกพัฒนาขึ้นผ่านการ Peer Review หรือการให้ผู้เชี่ยวชาญแต่ละสาขาวิชาเข้ามาช่วยตรวจสอบและเสนอแนะในระดับเดียวกับงานวิจัยทางวิทยาศาสตร์ เพื่อปูพื้นฐานทางเทคนิคของ Cardano ให้เข้มแข็ง และมั่นใจว่าทุกการพัฒนาจะมอบผลประโยชน์สูงสุดแก่วงการคริปโทเคอร์เรนซี

The very first cryptocurrency, created by a person or a group called Satoshi Nakamoto. Even now, the real identity of Bitcoin’s creator remains a mystery. However, one thing we know is that Bitcoin was created in order to set up a foundation of “Peer-to-Peer” currency.

Bitcoin comes form from Bit, the smallest unit of information in computing, and Coin. Bitcoin runs on Blockchain technology, the decentralized network that removes the middleman allowing transactions to be made between users and reducing some deadweight loss like fee or processing time, as well as enable value to be transferred freely via internet.

The blockchain technology behind Bitcoin inspires a group of people to create more decentralized projects as well as other cryptocurrencies.

2.Ethereum (ETH)

Ethereum is currently the 2nd largest cryptocurrency behind Bitcoin.

Ethereum was born from the idea of Vitalik Buterin and other co-founders in 2015. Ethereum improved many aspects of blockchain with “Smart contract” as the key feature.

Smart contract is a self-executing contract with the terms of the agreement between 2 or more parties. In other words, Ethereum is programmable. This allows applications to be created on the blockchain, making Ethereum much more than cryptocurrency but the world’s computer.

Not only applications are created on Ethereum, smart contracts also allow many innovations to be created on blockchain such as NFT or DeFi. Most importantly, Ethereum is still improving, many new features can be expected in the Ethereum 2.0 that should arrive in 2022.

3.Bitkub Coin (KUB)

Bitkub Coin is the main currency within Bitkub Chain, the blockchain network built by Thai to be the main Infrastructure of Thai industries, developed by Bitkub Blockchain Technology

Bitkub Chain is a blockchain network that allows fast transactions with the block creation time as low as 5 second/block. Smart contracts are also available on Bitkub Chain in order to expand the blockchain use cases.

USDT is currently the Stablecoin with the largest market cap, created by Tether, a company in Hong Kong.

Stablecoin is different from regular cryptocurrency, as its value is mostly stable as the name suggests. USDT can keep its value stable by pegging USDT to real US dollars at the ratio of 1:1. The US dollar is stored within Tether’s vault should USDT holders wish to redeem for US dollars.

USDT is suitable for transferring value via the internet or purchasing product online, especially if both parties are concerned about price fluctuation.

5.Cardano (ADA)

Cardano was founded by Charles Hoskinson, one of Ethereum’s co-founder. Cardano was created to be the blockchain that can scale effectively in order to drive blockchain and cryptocurrency adoption.

Charles Hoskinson believes that blockchain with excellent scalability can push the technology toward mass adoption, or in other words blockchain is used by most people and industries, which is the key factor that can push blockchain to be the main force behind world economy, just like internet did in the past.

Cardano achieves scalability by utilizing the “Proof-of-Stake” consensus algorithm instead of Proof-of-Work that is used by Bitcoin and Ethereum, resulting in lower transaction time and electricity cost.

Furthermore, Cardano was developed under “Peer review” which means any update or development that Cardano plans will be sent to academic experts to help review thoroughly before implementing. This allows Cardono to be strong on both technical and use cases.
