การสื่อสารเพื่อให้ผู้พูด และผู้ฟังมีความเข้าใจตรงกัน ต้องเลือกใช้ประโยคให้ตรงตามวัตถุประสงค์ ประโยคที่ใช้ในการสื่อสาร ได้แก่ ประโยคบอกเล่า ประโยคปฏิเสธ ประโยคคำถาม ประโยคคาสั่ง ประโยคขอร้อง ประโยคแสดงความต้องการ
