ตัวอย่างที่ 1 (ที่ร้านขายกล้องถ่ายรูป)

A (คนขาย): Excuse me.  What can I do for you? (ขอโทษครับ มีอะไรให้ช่วยไหมครับ – ต้องการอะไรครับ)

B (ลูกค้า): I would like to buy a digital camera.  Which one would you recommend? (ผมต้องการซื้อกล้องถ่ายรูปดิจืตอล คุณจะแนะนำตัวไหนล่ะ)

A: How about this one.  It’s the latest model we have imported from Japan. (ตัวนี้เป็นไงครับ เป็นตัวใหม่ล่าสุดที่เรานำเข้าจากญี่ปุ่น)

B: Is there a guarantee? (มีรับประกันไหม)

A: XL-size shirts are over there.  What color would you prefer (หรือ like)? (ขนาด xl อยู่ตรงโน้นครับ คุณชอบสีอะไรล่ะ)

B: Blue, I think. (สีน้ำเงินน่ะ)

A: Here is a nice blue shirt. (นี่ครับตัวสีน้ำเงิน อย่างสวยเลย)

B: I’m looking for a kind of cloth (โคลธ).  May I look around? (ชั้นกำลังหาผ้าชนิดหนึ่ง ชั้นขอดูทั่วทั่วก่อนนะ)

A: Certainly, ma’am.  May I show you some new things?  How do you like this one which is now in fashion? (เชิญเลยครับคุณนาย ผมขอเสนอผ้าใหม่ให้คุณนายชมครับ ชอบแบบนี้ไหมครับ กำลังอยู่ในสมัยนิยมทีเดียว)

B: I don’t care about new fashion.  I want only  good material. (ชั้นไม่ค่อยสนใจเรื่องสมัยนิยมนักหรอก ชั้นต้องการแต่ผ้าเนื้อดีดีเท่านั้น)

A: Then here’s another.  It’s very nice and washable. (ถ้างั้นก็ชนิดนี้สิครับ มันเก๋ดีและซักน้าได้ด้วย)

B: But it’s too showy.  I don’t like this design. (แต่มันดูฉูดฉาดไปหน่อยนะ  ชั้นไม่ค่อยชอบแบบนี้นักหรอก)
