Some time ago I purchased a Ipad Air Mk 2 64gb at a much reduced price. I am a retired professional photographer / technician.
I thought that I would be able to read files from a SD card or 2.5 inch drive with the Ipad. Yes, you can read files from a SD card via an adapter, but you have to import them first. This is not what I wanted to do. I Now use Google Photos, which is a cloud based app. I have access to some 90,000 of my images.
This is fine until I want to show images to someone who does not have a network connection.
This is where the Sandisk Ixpand comes in. I can transfer files to it and show them to friends and family as required.
I think though for what it is, its way overpriced for 32gb of storage. I have gained a bit more storage by deleting the test files included.
Also for the price, a cover for the USB plug, or a slip case should have been provided or both.
If Apple would get there act together with their mobile devices and provide a SD or Micro Sd card slot with read/write functions, these expensive add ons would not be required. I dont think that is ever going to happen though.
I would only recommend this if you have a definite use for it.

Purchased after reading good reviews but this item failed after initial recognition and was not recognised by iPhone or windows 10. Troubleshooting guide on SanDisk website suggests this is not unheard of. SanDisk even suggest editing Windows 10 registry. In this day and age this item should just work and didn't. Wasted several hours before return.

Ich war ja sehr skeptisch, nachdem ich einige Rezensionen hier gelesen hatte. Zunächst hatte ich bei amzon WarehouseDeals ein Exemplar bestellt. Das funktionierte aber nicht. Also zurückgeschickt und ein neues Exemplar bestellt.
Und dass funktioniert richtig gut. Nachdem ich die App auf das iPhone geladen und den Stick angeschlossen hatte, wurde
der sofort erkannt und die App nahm die Arbeit auf. Die ist sehr übersichtlich und intuitiv zu bedienen. Das kopieren von 1650 Fotos und Videos ging zügig vonstatten.
Anschließend den Stick am Windows-PC am USB 3.0-Anschluss eingesteckt. Wurde ebenfalls sofort erkannt. Die Dateien wurden ratz fatz übertragen. Im Verzeichnis sind die Bilder in Unterordnern nach Jahren abgelegt - echt super.
Also ich kann das Teil uneingechränkt empfehlen.
Beim Sandisk Kundendienst hatte ich zwischenzeitlich angefragt, ob der iXpand auch mit dem iPhone 8 Plus funktionert. Von da bekam ich innerhalb eines Tages die Antwort, dass die neueste Modellserie kompatibel ist. Es gäbe bei Vorserienmodellen manchmal Probleme. Mir wurde ein Umtausch angeboten, falls das bei mir der Fall sein sollte. Also auch hier ein Lob für den Service von SanDisk.

At last, someone came up with a way to thwart Apple's irritating insistence on not allowing iPhone memory expansion. I have bought two of these, the first one because my partner has an annoying habit of overloading her 6S with videos and photographs.
I was impressed enough to buy one for myself the next day.
The app is easy to download and use, and the interface is as intuitive as one would expect from an iOS 'thingy'.
I know this is pretty pricey for a 32GB USB stick, but it is so convenient that I, for one, am happy to have parted with £80 for the two. It'll probably get cheaper over time.
